Moira McEwen


Bio
Moira McEwen has always loved to dance. Unfortunately, due to financial limitations, she wasn't able to take classes until late elementary. Her training began with Irish Dance. When McEwen was eleven, she began taking ballet classes. Although it was a rocky start, by a year later, and she had fallen in love with the form. She trained formatively at the Ballet Austin Academy, until COVID hit. For the next two years, she trained virtually with the Ballet Chicago Studio Company- within the confines of her living-room-turned-dance-studio.
She currently trains at Hofstra University, where she is pursuing a dual degree in Music Performance and Dance. McEwen is trained in ballet, modern (including Horton, Graham, Taylor, Limon, etc.), contemporary, Irish step, and jazz. Performance experience includes excerpts from Evensong, by Rachel List (Hofstra Fall Faculty Dance Concert 2023), "Tourments Necessaries" by Abdul Sanz (Miscellaneous Works 2023), and Coffee Soloist from The Nutcracker (CapCity Ballet 2021).
